Crystal Palace V Arsenal

Life has certainly been exciting at Selhurst Park since Alan Pardew’s arrival and we’re predicting plenty more entertainment as his side entertain Arsenal in a crucial London derby.

Crystal Palace have scored 15 times in eight competitive fixtures under Pardew and will fancy their chances of finding the net against the Gunners. On-loan Yaya Sanogo might be ineligible but the Eagles still boast the likes of Dwight Gayle and Frazier Campbell, who will both confident of goals.

However, the home side know that they’re in for a really tough test against Arsene Wenger’s men. The visitors need a win to keep their top four aspirations going strong and will additionally be hoping to build momentum ahead of next week’s crucial Champions League clash with Monaco. The Gunners have won seven of their last eight fixtures and will be eager to fire another three points here.

Both sides can enter this encounter in good spirits. Whilst the Gunners should prevail, Palace can at least find the target.

Barnsley V Crewe Alexandra

Goals have been a regular feature at Oakwell throughout 2014/15 and we’re expecting that theme to continue as the Tykes take on Crewe in an epic clash at the foot of League One.

Each team is only a few points above the dreaded relegation zone and a weekend win could be massive to their respective survival bids, which should lend to an attack-minded affair. Both lost last weekend, but were able to find the net and we think that should happen again here.

Barnsley have scored 27 time from 15 games at Oakwell this term, conceding 24 in the process. Meanwhile, Crewe’s away record reads 15 for and 29 against after also playing 15 matches on the road. Those stats certainly suggest a game of goals, as does the 2-1 result at Gresty Road earlier this season.

This will have been pinpointed as a potential win by both points and that should spark a flurry of activity at either end. Back both teams to score.

Chester V Eastleigh

Steve Burr’s Chester are one of the Vanaram Conference’s in-form sides thanks to a run of four straight league victories. However, the Blues will need to be at their very best to beat promotion chasing Eastleigh on Saturday.

However, the hosts will take confidence from their recent run of results and will have no fear heading into this crucial match at the Swansway Stadium. They’ll also be happy with a return of 21 goals from 15 home games this term, although the 20 conceded is a cause for concern.

On the other hand, Eastleigh will be equally confident as they look to close the gap on the play-offs. The visitors have netted an impressive 26 away goals this term and will also look to November’s 3-2 home win over Chester for more inspiration. However, they have shipped 25 on the road and those defensive weaknesses could give the in-form hosts a real chance of securing the points.

This is arguable the most fascinating match-up that the Conference has to offer this weekend and should be a thrilling spectacle. We wouldn’t want to predict the outcome, but we can anticipate goals.
