Crystal Palace V West Ham United

BTTS Yes @ 21/20 with BetVictor

Saturday’s Premier League fixtures look particularly tough to call but the one thing we are expecting is goals at Selhurst Park.

After a bizarre build up to the new season, the Eagles actually put in a very strong display at the Emirates before falling to Aaron Ramsey’s injury-time winner. They will be disappointed by the manner of that result, but the crescendo of noise created by their home fans should spur them on against the Hammers.

Likewise, West Ham suffered a late defeat on the opening day as they lost to Tottenham at home. Nevertheless, Sam Allardyce will take heart from his side’s performance and the summer additions of Cheikhou Kouyate and Emner Valencia could be the difference at Selhurst Park.

Both teams lost their respective London derbies last weekend and will be eager to put things right here. That should hopefully lead to a passion fuelled affair. These two don’t tend to share that many goals but the peculiar circumstances surrounding the manager situation at Selhurst Park makes us believe that things could be different on Saturday.

We’re pre-empting goals in the derby, let’s hope they come at both ends.

Blackburn Rovers V Bournemouth

BTTS Yes @ 31/40 with BetVictor

Championship side Blackburn Rovers have been involved in three straight BTTS winners during their start to the new league season and that trend is likely to continue as they entertain Eddie Howe’s Cherries at Ewood Park.

Like Blackburn, Bournemouth have also netted in all three league matches although they did keep clean sheets in their opening two. However, conceding twice against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday will have been a reality check for the Cherries and we would expect them to concede on Saturday.

The fact Blackburn are scoring despite the mini-drought of key man Jordan Rhodes is another reason to fancy the hosts’ chances of netting. The Scotland international will get off the mark soon but it’s comforting to know that they have other sources capable of scoring.

However, you cannot overlook their defensive frailties. Conceding against Blackpool was an early indicator that Gary Bowyer’s defence may struggle for clean sheets in the early stages of the campaign and that theory was further cemented by the 3-1 defeat at Norwich. Having seen Borunemouth hit four past Huddersfield on the opening day, a shutout seems unlikely for Rovers.

This is a particularly difficult fixture to call the outcome of and each side will be equally optimistic ahead of Saturday’s showdown. The one thing we can be quietly confident of, though, is goals. Back both teams to score.

Brentford V Birmingham City

BTTS Yes @ 9/10 with BetVictor

Staying in the Championship and our finally selection comes from Griffin Park.

Newly-promoted Brentford have adapted to life in the Championship relatively well and sit 12th after three matches with one win, one draw, and one defeat. It has been a steady start and we’re backing them to continue that against a Blues side who have enjoyed a similar opening.

After staying up by the skin of their teeth in 2013/14, Blues began this season with a disappointing defeat to Middlesbrough but have since registered four points in two games at St Andrew’s. Lee Clark’s men can use that momentum to good effect at Griffin Park and should find the net at some stage.

However, the Blues face a tough task in trying to take the sting out of the Bees. Brentford opened the new season with a score draw against Charlton and their second match at Griffin Park could develop in a very similar fashion.

Both teams will have this pinpointed as a chance to gain vital points and that should lend to an exciting contest.
