Manchester United V West Ham United

If there’s one thing we’ve learnt from Manchester United this season then it is to expect plenty of goals. We fully expect that theme to continue as they welcome West Ham to Old Trafford.

Manager Louis van Gaal has assembled one of the most feared attacking units in European football with the likes of Angel di Maria, Ander Herrera and Juan Mata supplying the ammunition for Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Radamel Falcao. Such a formidable frontline will always get goals and boast seven in the past two games alone.

However, gaping holes remain in the Manchester United backline (they have no recognised centre back fit) and this is something that an expansive Hammers side will look to capitalise on.

Sam Allardyce has been scrutinised for a long time regarding his adopted style of play but this summer saw him recruit some truly exciting prospects and the end result has been a much more pleasing brand of football.

West Ham fired three past Liverpool last week and also netted three in the away trip to Crystal Palace earlier in the season, as well as two at Hull City. The Hammers will fancy their chances of finding the target at Old Trafford, especially after Leicester knocked five past them on Sunday.

Allardyce will have taken note of QPR’s performance in Manchester a fortnight ago and is likely to take an attack-minded approach as containing the hosts appears much harder than bullying their defence. It should be an exciting contest to say the least.

Bristol City V MK Dons

It’s top meets second in this crucial League One clash at Ashton Gate and the neutrals will be hoping for an early goal in order to spark this one into life.

Bristol City have been brilliant at home so far, dropping just two points and conceding one goal. However, if there is one team ready to score at Ashton Gate then it has to be Karl Robinson’s Dons. Inspired by Dele Ali and Benik Afobe, the division’s top scorers have already notched an impressive 21 league strikes as well as nine in three cup matches.

The Dons have now scored in six straight matches and should extend that run to seven on Saturday. Unfortunately, though, they may need more than one strike to gain any points from this one.Steve Cotterill’s Robins have hit 18 goals themselves this season and are unbeaten in eight competitive matches. It will take a huge effort from the Dons to shutout the league leaders.

Each of last season’s meetings ended in 2-2 draws and we’re expecting the goals to flow again here. Back both teams to score.

Wrexham V Eastleigh

Our final selection comes from the Conference and there is one fixture that stands out as a potential goal fest and that is the match between Wrexham and Eastleigh.

After 11 matches these sides are separated by goal difference alone so it could be a close contest at the Racecourse Ground. Nevertheless, that shouldn’t slow down the rate of goals between these two free-scoring rivals.

Between them, Wrexham and Eastleigh have netted 34 goals this season. Equally pleasing, for the purposes of this bet, they’ve also shipped a combined total of 29. In addition to that, the home side’s last three league matches here have ended in BTTS winners whilst only one the away team’s last fiv outings didn’t end with both teams on the scoresheet.

Wrexham were involved in a fiercely fought derby against Chester on Monday, let’s hope those passions spill over into Saturday’s clash with Eastleigh.
