Nottingham Forest V Bolton Wanderers
Nottingham Forest have enjoyed a dramatic upturn in fortunes under new boss Dougie Freedman and we’re backing the new Reds boss to continue his fine start with another three points against Bolton.
However, the Trotters have been much better since changing their manager as well and, although Neil Lennon’s honeymoon period is over, we’re expecting the visitors to put up a real fight at the City Ground.
Bolton’s last nine Championship fixtures have ended in BTTS winners and we’d expect that to continue. However, you cannot overlook the fact they’ve lost three of their past four away games and conceded eight in the past two alone.
The sides shared a 2-2 draw at the Macron earlier in the season. On home soil, though, you have to fancy a Forest win.

Preston North End V Scunthorpe United
League One side Scunthorpe are probably the most improved team in the entire Football League in recent months but Mark Robins’ men could be set for disappointment as they meet high-flying Preston at Deepdale.
North End are currently fourth in the table and could even move level with second-placed MK Dons by winning their two games in hand. Additionally, their Monday FA Cup exit will allow Simon Grayson’s men to focus their full attention on gaining promotion to the Championship and that could be bad news for the visiting Iron.
Scunthorpe are unbeaten in nine away games, though, and will take confidence from finding the net in each of those matches. However, they have also conceded in each of the past eight and a vulnerable defence could be their downfall against the Lilywhites.
Both teams are in good spirit and we’re anticipating a cracking encounter packed with action. On this occasion, though, we’re tipping Preston to edge it.

Bury V Hartlepool United
It has been a truly dreadful season for Hartlepool, who have sat at the foot of League Two for months, and we cannot see them causing an upset at Gigg Lane this weekend. However, Ronnie Moore’s men can at least give their travelling supporters something to cheer by scoring against the Shakers.
The Pool have lost 11 of 15 away games this season whilst Bury have only lost three at home, so the outcome should theoretically be quite straight forward. However, the hosts have leaked 15 in 15 at Gigg Lane this term so, if nothing else, the visitors can hope to bag their 10th away goal of the campaign.
Bury have scored 25 times en route to nine home wins, though, and will be looking to reach a double-figured milestone of their own with three points here. David Flitcroft’s men will be confident about adding to Hartlepool’s woe and the likes of Daniel Nardiello and Danny Rose will be eager to increase their personal tallies by getting their names on the scoresheet.
It should be a routine home win for Bury, but we do think Hartlepool will score a consolation
