Hannover v Bayer Leverkusen

Narrowly avoiding relegation in 2014/15, Hannover were nevertheless one of the best BTTS Yes home teams in Europe last season, with their last nine home games resulting in each side netting at least one goal.

Though playing away in their first Bundesliga match of the 2015/16 season last weekend, both teams still scored as Hannover drew 2-2 away to promoted SV Darmstadt.

Both teams also scored in Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-1 opening weekend defeat of Hoffenheim last Saturday afternoon, along with in the last three head-to-head matches between Hannover and Bayer Leverkusen in Hannover.

All in all, Leverkusen are the superior team and should win, but since they played away to Lazio in a UEFA Champions League qualifier midweek and will have one eye on the return leg on Wednesday, a better rested Hannover side should at least be able to continue their excellent BTTS home record.

Koln v Wolfsburg

Koln got their 2015/16 Bundesliga season off to a winning start by defeating Stuttgart 3-1 away last Sunday. It was a game in which they could have been two or three goals down in by half time, but Stuttgart couldn’t take their chances and the speedy counter-attack of Koln eventually made them pay the price.

With all three goals coming before half time, Wolfsburg defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 at the VW Arena last weekend. Star player Kevin De Bruyne played poorly by his own standards, likely distracted by talk of an impending move to Man City, and was eventually substituted.

All in all, whether De Bruyne plays or not, Wolfsburg will attack regularly and since Koln are effective on the counter, both teams scoring – which occurred in each of last season’s H2H matches between the two – looks likely.

Verona v Roma

This is literally the first game of the 2015/16 Serie A season and it looks highly unlikely to finish goalless given that Verona were a good BTTS Yes team at home – and in general to an extent – last season.

Of course, critical to goals and this bet are also Roma, who’ve stocked up offensively in the off-season by adding former Chelsea man Salah and ex-Man City striker Dzeko.

Both players were amongst the goals in pre-season and with Roma often dropping points because they couldn’t score more than once – or at all – in the second half of 2014/15, the new forward line could turn draws into wins and make Roma a more serious title contender this time round.

Powered by the evergreen Luca Toni – who was the joint-top scorer in Serie A last season – Verona’s recent friendly games have been full of BTTS Yes winners and 38-year-old Toni bagged a brace in a midweek cup win.

Head-to-head, four of the last six games between Verona and Roma have seen both teams score, including three in a row specifically in Verona. All in all, the Romans should win, but Verona are no pushover and should be able to get on the scoresheet through Toni.
