JC’s BTTS Tips Saturday 21st March – Back Goals Galore When Cagliari Visit Leaky Milan

Stop press! BetVictor are giving Man City at 4/1 to beat WBA this Saturday lunchtime for all new customers. The industry average is just 1/3 so you are getting huge value if you decide to get on. Worth thinking about!

Last Saturday I got 2/3 BTTS Yes picks correct as Zwolle failed to hold up their part of the bargain, but – as always – I’m back to try again. Find my latest treble attempt beneath and good luck.

Cardiff v Birmingham

Welsh side Cardiff drew 1-1 at home to Bournemouth midweek, which is fine for us as it meant their BTTS Yes strike rate went up from 61.1% to 63.16, with twelve out of their nineteen home Championship games seeing both teams score.

Birmingham, meanwhile, saw their midweek game away to Reading postponed so they’ll have fresh legs when they play Cardiff. Now, Birmingham only have a 55.6% BTTS Yes strike rate with ten of their nineteen away games resulting in both teams scoring, but their last four road contests finished 1-1, 4-3, 4-2 and 2-2 so current form suggests that both they and Cardiff will get more than a few chances to win us this bet. As a single it’s best to go with Betfred who are offering 10/11 on this as well as a bet £10 get £30 free when you open an account.

AC Milan v Cagliari

Coached by former player Filipe Inzaghi, AC Milan are a shadow of what they used to be and in bad form. Last Monday, they blew a fortunate 1-0 lead to lose 2-1 away to Fiorentina, while the Rossoneri conceded with virtually the last kick of the game to draw 2-2 with Verona last time out at the San Siro.

Sure, Cagliari let us down a couple of weeks ago when failing to score in a 2-0 defeat away to Sampdoria, but they won us the same bet in Sardinia last weekend, and as Samp beat Roma 2-0 in their next game we can conclude that Mihajlovic’s side are now in the habit of keeping clean-sheets.

Overall, AC Milan only have a BTTS Yes strike rate of 50% with seven of their fourteen home games seeing both teams score, but each side netted in three of their last four at San Siro and three out of Cagliari’s last four away.

Plus, if you’ve watched AC Milan recently, once they get the lead they go overly defensive and try to hold their advantage rather than double it and make the game same. Inzaghi will sub attackers for extra defenders at this point and since they keep doing it, it feels and looks inevitable that the nervous Milan backline will concede and throw the points away. Third from bottom in the Serie standings, Cagliari need points and AC Milan look like just the team to gift them one.

Schalke v Bayer Leverkusen

After their superb 4-3 defeat of Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in the UEFA Champions League, Roberto Di Matteo’s Schalke drew 2-2 away to Hertha Berlin to make it three Bundesliga BTTS Yes games in a row and four if we add Real Madrid in the UCL. Overall, Schalke have a 61.5% BTTS Yes strike rate with eight of their thirteen home Bundesliga games seeing both teams score.

Bayer Leverkusen, on the other hand, have a low BTTS Yes strike rate of just 41.7% with five of their twelve away Bundesliga matches seeing both teams score. But then Leverkusen played away to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League midweek, two of their last three Bundesliga road games saw both teams score and they themselves have netted in five straight away.

All in all, Schalke should have an increased chance of scoring with fresher legs, and Leverkusen will want to make sure that their three point lead over Schalke in the domestic standings stays the same or gets bigger as they look to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
