Saturday Goals Galore Treble 22nd Aug – Bank On Goal Action At Brunton Park

We’ve had one win from two on our Saturday BTTS trebles this season and are hoping to make it two from three with this weekend’s 9/2 offering.

Our six selections have all found the target on a regular basis in the early stages of 2015/16 and we’re confident that this will continue on Saturday afternoon.

Fingers crossed for the weekend boom.

Brighton & Hove Albion V Blackburn Rovers

Our first selection comes from the Championship as Blackburn Rovers look to bounce back from a difficult start to 2015/16 with a first win of the season as they make the trip to Brighton. While Rovers should fancy their chances of goals, it’s hard to see them leaving the Amex with all three points.

The visitors have continued their penchant for goals in spite of losing Rudy Gestede to Aston Villa, and have found the net in all four competitive fixtures this term. With Jordan Rhodes and Nathan Delfouneso in attack, Gary Bowyer’s men will carry a threat.

However, Brighton have started the season in great form and will be expecting to seal another three points here. Chris Hughton will have high hopes of enjoying a decent campaign, and the likes of Jamie Murphy and Sam Baldock have certainly got the quality to score. Meanwhile, Bobby Zamora will be itching to get amongst the goals too.

The Championship has been typically exciting in the opening weeks of the campaign. We think the drama will continue in this encounter, so back both teams to score.

Carlisle United V AFC Wimbledon

Keith Curle’s Cumbrians were involved in a thriller 4-4 draw against Cambridge United in their first home game last weekend. While we don’t think there will be quite as much drama at Brunton Park, there is enough reason to think we will see goals at both ends of the pitch.

The hosts owe their fans a big performance after Tuesday’s dismal display at Plymouth, which is the longest trip of any Football League club this term. Despite their awful showing at Home Park, they did at least hit one goal to continue their 100% BTTS record in 2015/16.

However, the fact they’ve conceded eight goals in their past two fixtures will give the visiting Dons every reason to think they’ll score. Neil Ardley’s men notched two in their only other away outing in League Two so far and will be looking to Tom Elliot and Adebayo Akinfenwa for inspiration on Saturday afternoon.

Both of last season’s matches ended in BTTS winners, including a 4-4 draw on this ground. Another parade of goals would suit us just fine.

Forest Green Rovers V Lincoln City

Conference leaders Forest Green Rovers have started the form in perfect form having won all three games and keeping clean sheets in each of those matches. While the hosts will be confident of more goals at the New Lawn, goalkeeper Jonathan Maxted could be set to concede his first league goal of the campaign.

Lincoln City have been a firm favourite for punters on the BTTS market over the last year or two and Chris Moyses’ men have started 2015/16 with four straight BTTS winners too. They enter this fixture on the back of scoring five against Macclesfield on Tuesday night and, like their opponents, remain unbeaten at this stage.

While the visitors will be in high confidence, it’s hard to see the hosts firing a blank after their incredible start. Adrian Pennock’s men are playing with extreme confidence and can rely on the experienced Jon Parkin to lead the line well. It would be a huge surprise if Lincoln’s leaky defence were to keep a shutout.

The last five meetings between these sides have ended in BTTS winners. Back the trend to continue here.
