BTTS & Win Tips Saturday 22nd August – A Goliath 88/1 Treble

The new football season is barely a couple of weeks old but we’ve already been treated to some fascinating drama across England’s top four divisions. We hope this will continue on Saturday as we look to bag this huge 88/1 treble on the BTTS & Win coupon.

We’ve picked three games in which we think both teams will score. However, we’re combing that with victories for three of those teams. For the chance to win the best part of £900 from a simple £10 treble, it’s got to be worth a punt.

Good luck!

Crystal Palace V Aston Villa

The Premier League showdown at Selhurst Park screams goals as both teams have adopted a far more attacking philosophies since changing managers halfway through last term.

Alan Pardew’s Palace have become firm favourites for BTTS punters and have started the new season as expected with a 3-1 win and a 2-1 loss. There are weaknesses in their backline, but the attacking prowess of Yohan Cabaye, Yannick Bolasie and Patrick Bamford should give the Eagles a great chance of goals against Villa.

However, the visitors will be in good spirits after claiming an away win against newly promoted Bournemouth on the opening day. The Villains have lost a few star players but the additions of Rudy Gestede and Jordan Ayew should see them carry a decent threat in the final third.

Villa have got every reason to think they’ll score. But with the noisy home fans behind them, we’re backing the Eagles to bounce back from last Sunday’s loss against Arsenal in style.

Middlesbrough V Bristol City

Aaitor Karanka’s men opened their home campaign with a 3-0 win over Bolton Wanderers last week and, while Boro have looked a little hesitant on the road so far, we think last season’s play-off finalists will claim another three points here.

Boro are blessed with a quality squad for this level. With Stewart Downing and Grant Leadbitter in midfield, they should fancy their chances of dominating most Championship sides. Meanwhile, the hosts will be thrilled to have seen Kike start the season in great scoring form too.

The home side will certainly be confident about clinching three points against newly promoted Bristol City, but the Robins should give them a run for their money. Steve Cotterill’s men scored 96 goals en route to the League One title last term and have also netted four in their past two league games.

However, it is worth noting that the visitors are yet to win a game since gaining promotion to the Championship. It doesn’t get much harder than a trip to Riverside, and we’re backing the hosts to prevail in spite of the fact we think City will score.

Gillingham V Wigan Athletic

Justin Edinburgh has enjoyed a fantastic start to his first new season at Gillingham, with the League One side sitting second in the table at this early stage. However, we’re predicting a more difficult test as they take on Wigan Athletic at Priestfield.

It has been a tough fall from grace for Wigan in the past couple of seasons. It only seems like five minutes ago that the Latics were lifting the FA Cup at Wembley. Gary Caldwell’s men now find themselves in League One, but will be confident of enjoying a much better season this term.

After a shaky start, the visitors will be in a much better mood following Wednesday’s 3-0 win over Scunthorpe United. Will Grigg and Craig Davis offer fantastic quality in attack for this level and they shouldn’t face too much trouble scoring goals against a Gillingham defence that has conceded in its last three competitive fixtures.

Gillingham’s great form suggests that they will find the target, but Wigan may just be starting to settle into their home. We’re backing the visitors to clinch a vital victory.
