FA Cup third round weekend is upon us once more – what better way to celebrate than winning big with this huge 100/1 treble at Coral!
We’re looking to start 2015 in the best possible manner by landing this BTTS & Match Result treble and are keeping our fingers crossed for a monumental boom.
Best of luck!
Barnsley V Middlesbrough
Our first selection comes from Oakwell as Danny Wilson’s Barnsley bid to cause a shock by knocking out Championship high-flyers Middlesbrough. Whilst the Tykes are fond of a home goal, their leaky defence is likely to cost them dearly against Aitor Karanaka’s side.
Barnsley have been a reliable source for goals at both ends of the pitch in League One, with a tally of 42 being split right down the middle after 11 games. Meanwhile, Boro have netted 16 and shipped 10 from their 10 league matches on the road.
The gulf in quality is quite vast considering these sides are separated by only one division. Whilst Boro continue to impress and sustain a serious bid for promotion to the Premiership, the Tykes will be satisfied with avoiding the drop. The visitors are in a much better frame of mind and that momentum should see them through here.
Wilson will ensure that his men make a real go of things on Saturday and that is why we think the Tykes should score. However, Boro are the much greater side and we’d expect their superiority in the final third to shine through.

Brentford V Brighton & Hove Albion
Mark Warburton’s Bees endured a difficult festive period, losing back-to-back matches since Christmas Day, but the Griffin Park club can bounce back to winning ways as they take on Championship rivals Brighton in this crucial FA Cup showdown.
Brighton are currently enjoying a new lease of life since getting rid of Sami Hyypia, but new boss Chris Hughton knows that his priority remains with league survival. That doesn’t mean that the Seagulls will roll over, and they’ll be eager to keep their good scoring form going strong, but it wouldn’t surprise us if the visitors drop out of the competition at this stage.
Players like Sam Baldock and Adrian Colunga are yet to get their campaigns up and running but are still capable of causing problems to a Brentford defence that has shipped 11 in five matches. However, the firepower of Andre Gray and Jota Peleteiro should more than compensate for their defensive frailties and we’d be shocked if the Bees don’t find their way onto the scoresheet.
The Bees have already claimed a well fought 3-2 home win over Brighton this season, and a repeat of September’s BTTS and Brentford win could be a likely outcome here.

Preston North End V Norwich City
The beauty of third round weekend is that there will always be a few shocks and the clash at Deepdale is one that we’ve pinpointed as a potential victory for the underdogs.
Simon Grayson has worked wonders at Preston this term and the Lilywhites are now genuine contenders for automatic promotion to next year’s Championship. This could be the perfect chance for the League One club to test their ability against an opponent they could be facing again in 2015/16.
Preston are unbeaten in nine matches heading into this one and have lost just one of 11 home games in League One, notching 20 goals in the process. However, they have also shipped 12 at Deepdale and the Canaries will definitely be fancied to score.
Nevertheless, Norwich have been rather wobbly on the road over the past couple of months and Neil Adams’ side could be set for another away day disappointment this weekend.
