Football Betting Tips Saturday 7th December – Best Single Bets For The Weekend

This weekend provides a wide range of fixtures from all over the country, from the Premier League, FA Cup, as well as the lower leagues. After much form book study and info searching here are my best bets of the weekend, as always placed as single bets.

With Christmas fast approaching and Champions League week next week things are really heating up so I’m in search of some nice winners this Saturday. Good luck if you follow!

Southampton v Manchester City – 3.00pm
Advised Bet: Manchester City win – 4/5

I actually can’t believe how Manchester City are available at 4/5 to win this game at St.Mary’s on Saturday afternoon. Yes, Southampton are performing well generally, although they have suffered a dip in form recently, but we are talking about a Manchester City side that are banging in goals for fun at the moment, with Sergio Aguero proving that he is indeed one of the best strikers in the world.

The Saints 3-2 loss at home to Aston Villa midweek won’t do much for confidence, and with 3 straight losses in the Premier League the last thing they will want to come up against is a buoyant Manchester City side.

City have scored 16 goals in their last 4 games in all competitions and while they are playing the way they are they simply have to be backed to win.

Southampton are yet to play one of the big guns at home this season and this should be a rude awakening for them.

Derby County v Blackpool – 12.15pm

When you talk of form teams in the Championship Derby County are the team on everyone’s lips. The Rams have strung an impressive run of 4 consecutive wins together which has in turn boosted them up to 4th position in the Championship.

Saturday pits them up against 6th placed Blackpool at Pride Park. While The Seasiders are rather stingy defensively they do struggle to hit the net on their travels (just 4 goals in their last 6 away), and with the home side currently in a purple patch of form I’m taking them to beat Paul Ince’s side in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

Just as a side note and something to enforce my bet, Derby have won both of their last two home meetings with Blackpool (4-1 and 2-1).
