English Football Tips Saturday 14th December – Baggies Can Outclass Bluebirds

I’ve got to admit that my football tips have been going absolutely fantastically in the last week or so. The two articles I’ve published this week have returned a 100% strike rate from 4 stakes; all Champions League bets. Galatasaray and Manchester City provided the goods on Tuesday and that was quickly followed by Ajax and Marseille on Wednesday. Details of the bets can be found by clicking the links in this paragraph.

Anyway, on to the weekend. I’m obviously feeling very confident with the way I’m choosing bets at the moment, but won’t get carried away. Easy does it! Here is where my money is being invested this Saturday.

Need a reason to bet at Paddy Power aside from them offering 11/10 about West Brom? Then check this out!

Cardiff v West Brom – 3.00pm
Advised Bet: West Brom (draw no bet) – 11/10 Paddy Power

This is a bet that really stands out at me. There is no way that West Brom should be 11/10 against with the added insurance of a refund if it finishes all square.

Cardiff are really really struggling. They’ve gone almost six weeks without a win (a 1-0 victory over rivals Swansea) and have only scored 2 goals in this period (albeit against Manchester United, who we know aren’t what they were). Malky Mackay has seriously got his work cut out to keep The Bluebirds in the top flight. They just don’t have the quality to get consistent results.

West Brom aren’t without their problems either. They sit just 1 place higher than their opponents in the league on 15 points, but we can at least say that The Baggies are more than capable of grinding out results. Steve Clark has a capable enough squad of players, and while recent results have been less than impressive, they at least retain the ability to score goals. In fact, they had scored 7 goals in their previous 4 games before their 0-2 loss to Norwich last time out.

Neither side is at the top of their game, but WBA have far more potential to get out of their current predicament than Cardiff do, and I think The Baggies know that. This could be a season changer for the visitors, and at 11/10 with the draw as insurance I’m really going to get stuck into this one.

Gillingham v Peterborough – 3.00pm
Advised Bet: Peterborough win – Evens Ladbrokes

Gillingham are in terrible shape. They’ve lost 4 of their last 5 and their win in that period was against desperate Stevenage who are in all sorts of trouble. Currently sitting in 17th position on 21 points, just 3 above the relegation zone, they really need to turn things around but I’m not sure they can – certainly not against a rejuvenated Peterborough.

The Posh began to worry fans and board alike when they appeared to be blowing their title hopes by losing 5 consecutive games between October and November but it appears they seemed to have steadied the ship recently; Beating Wolves 1-0, Tranmere 5-0 in the FA Cup and then Newport County in the JPT midweek. It appears they are beginning to find the form of early season, and that can only be very encouraging.

Gills aren’t the easiest side to break down at Priestfield, but it pays to look for little trends and I think I’ve found one in Peterborough. Posh striker Britt Assombolonga is a threat at this level and has been banging in goals for fun this season. Let’s hope it continues. The even money about Peterborough makes this a shade of value in my eyes do I have to advise a bet on the win.
