After a week or so of enduring international action, although profitable for me, there’s nothing like a return to the ‘real’ football at domestic level, and I’m sure many will agree.
This weekend I’m aiming to keep my strike rate high and have a couple of cracking looking goals bets to share with you. Here are the two bets I’ll be placing on Saturday 14th September:
Hartlepool v Accrington Stanley – 3.00pm
BET: Under 2.5 goals – 4/6 Sky Bet
Two terrible teams having a horrific time at the moment. 23rd and 24th in League 2 respectively with just 3 points between them in a combined 12 games played so far.
A 5-0 win against a weakened Bradford side in the JPT aside, Hartlepool have scored just 1 goal in 6 league games. An absolutely poor return.
Surely Accrington look a little bit better? Nope. The visitors are rooted to the bottom of the table, their only points gained in a 2-2 draw with Portsmouth back at the beginning of August. Stanley have lost their last 6 games on the bounce without scoring a single goal and relegation creeps ever closer.
Normally an evenly matched game at the bottom of the table is the recipe for a few goals, but these to teams are absolutely shocking and will find it hard to score a goal between them. Under 2.5 goals has to be the bet at a value price.
Manchester United v Crystal Palace – 12.45pm
BET: Manchester United to win to nil – 10/11 Sky Bet
Premier League new boys Crystal Palace travel to Old Trafford this Saturday lunchtime and things could get messy. The Eagles did well to beat Sunderland 3-1 at Selhurst Park last time out, and got a goal at the Brittania against Stoke, but this game is stepping up in class far more than they will be able to cope with.
United drew their only home game so far this term, a 0-0 against Chelsea. Palace’s main aim will be to keep Welbeck and RVP at bay, and I’m doubting how many goalscoring chances they’ll get in this clash. It’s likely they’ll be completely over run in midfield.
