Only the lack of Romelu Lukaku prevented me from hitting the big one last weekend, but I still turned a tidy profit. This Saturday, though, I’m going for the jugular with this 17/1 treble.
I’ve picked three players that I fancy to find the target on Saturday afternoon, and I’ll be backing them each to hit the target as singles too.
Come on lads, do it for Martin
Sunderland V Bournemouth. 3PM
BET: Jermain Defoe to score anytime @ 21/10
I have no doubt that Big Sam will save the Black Cats from relegation, which is why I think Sunderland will claim a crucial three points as they take on Bournemouth at the Stadium of Light. If the home side does clinch the victory, then Jermain Defoe will almost certainly surface as the hero once more.
The former England man has scored nine goals already this season, and a home game against one of his ex clubs is a fantastic opportunity to reach double figures. Besides, the Cherries have conceded 21 goals in just 11 matches on the road, so attack has surely got to be Sunderland’s aim.
Eddie Howe’s visitors will quietly fancy their chances too, which could lead them to adopt an attacking formation. However, a win could put Sunderland on the verge of climbing out of the bottom three and I’m backing Defoe to help them on their way.
I’ve already won big on Defoe once this season, at odds of over 2/1, he’s my bet of the day once more.
Watford V Newcastle United. 3PM
BET: Odion Ighalo to score anytime @ 13/10
He might have performed well in the Championship but, for me, Odion Ighalo has been the Premier League’s surprise star. I can’t see any reason why he wouldn’t continue his incredible campaign against Newcastle.
With the Hornets facing a home tie against an improving yet vulnerable Newcastle, the hosts will certainly fancy their chances. Strike partner Troy Deeney will certainly carry a threat, but the biggest source of inspiration has to be the 13-goal Nigerian.
Watford haven’t exactly dazzled in the final third at Vicarage Road. Nevertheless, they should be confident against a Magpies side that’s leaked 2.1 goals per away game this season. Even if Steve McClaren’s men do secure a rare result on the road, there’s a very strong possibility that the hosts will find the target too.
And Ighalo has to be my pick to do it.
Fulham V Hull City. 3PM
BET: Abel Hernandez to score anytime @ 13/8
Craven Cottage could be a hotbed of action this weekend as Fulham take on the high-flying Tigers. The hosts will be looking to the likes of Moussa Dembele and Ross McCormack for inspiration. But I’ll be looking to Hull’s Abel Hernandez to roar the visitors to victory.
The 14-goal Uruguayan has scored a hat-trick against lowly Charlton last week and will be aiming to score for a third consecutive fixture here. Meanwhile, it’s worth noting that he scored in his last away game, which also came in west London on January 1st.
Hull should have no trouble scoring goals against a home side that always seems to concede. While there are other capable players in Steve Bruce’s squad, the away fans will be looking to Hernandez for goals.
Guess what? I will be too.
As well as the three singles, I’ll be playing the treble. The returns will be £187.50 for a £10 stake!
