Saturday Goals Galore 2nd March – Tykes And Trotters Equals Goalfest!

Visit BetfredWe’re looking for Goals Galore this weekend as GGT aims to bring you another successful treble. With the Bank Holiday’s coming thick and fast soon, it’s time to earn some pocket money to keep us all occupied over the next few months as we have countless days off work! Here’s the best of my Goals Galore picks this week:

Barnsley vs Bolton Wanderers
This is a delight of a game for anyone who enjoys a Goals Galore coupon. Barnsley have been in great form as of late but a 5-3 loss away to Bristol City last week may have put the brakes on their revival. Even with this loss, they still managed to grab 3 goals and this kind of high scoring affair with goals at both ends has been typical Barnsley recently.

In their last 5 games in all competitions they have scored a total of 12 goals and conceded a total of 11 averaging 4.6 goals per game! They’ve scored in 14 consecutive games in The Championship and in this period have kept only 4 clean sheets.

Bolton on the other hand are in the middle of their own mini revival. Despite a shocking start to the season they’re now undefeated in 5 in the league and sit only a few points off the play-offs. 4 of their last 5 games have seen both teams find the back of the net with a 1-0 victory over Peterborough in midweek the only exception. In 17 away games this season, Bolton have scored and conceded in 14 of these games and have kept only 1 clean sheet away from home all season.

The previous meeting between the two was back in November and finished all square at 1-1 and it’s all but a certainty that both teams will find the net at Oakwell today.

Notts County vs Carlisle

Notts County seem to be hitting form at just the right time in the league with as their undefeated in their last 4 games and also undefeated in their last 4 at home. But thoroughout this run of form, keeping a clean sheet has certainly not been their best area. Their last 4 games have seen both teams find the back of the net and at home this season they’ve been very weak defensively.

In 18 home league games at Meadow Lane they’ve kept just 3 clean sheets and have failed to score on 4 occasions. In their last home game though, they put 4 past a weak Bury side proving that they are certainly capable of goals on their day.

Carlisle may be struggling in the league but in 16 away games this season they’ve failed to score 4 times and have kept only 1 clean sheet. They’ve scored in each of their last 3 away days and though they can be unreliable at times, Notts County’s somewhat shoddy defence should open up a few opportunities for Carlisle today.

Bristol Rovers vs Burton Albion

Burton Albion are the form team of League Two and with no defeat in 7 games they are looking to close on the top two. In their last 5 games in the league they have scored a total of 14 goals and conceded 5 goals. However, 3 of these 5 games have been at The Pirelli Stadium where Burton have been simply unbeatable.

On the road they have been a mixed bag winning just one of their last 5 away games in a 4-0 victory over struggling Fleetwood. This win sealed their first clean sheet on the road for 12 games and with bags of goals flying in at the moment, they should certainly find the net against a hit and miss Bristol Rovers.

Rovers were on a cracking run of form but they’re now without a win in 3 games and they need to continue the push to survive this season. When it comes to goals though, they’re certainly not shy considering their league position. They’ve scored in 4 of their last 5 home games with a 2-0 loss to Gillingham the only exception. They’ve also conceded in 4 of these 5 games with a clean sheet against Wycombe the only exception.

For a team that has been in the relegation zone for the majority of the season, the fact that they have only failed to score against 5 visitors to The Memorial Stadium this season can only be seen as a positive sign. The fact that they’ve kept only 2 clean sheets in their 17 home league games may not be a point that they want to brag about, but it certainly looks good for us on paper for our Goals Galore bet.

The two teams have met 3 times in the football league with all 3 games resulting in goals at both ends. Their last meeting at The Memorial Stadium finished 7-1 to Bristol Rovers just less than a year ago!
