BTTS and Win Tips Saturday 16th August – A Mammoth 119/1 treble

Check out our BTTS treble for Saturday

It’s week two of the Football League and we’re gunning for a massive 119/1 treble courtesy of the ‘Match Result and BTTS’ market.

This coupon has become a favourite with punters as even three correct predictions can produce a three-figure payout, as is the case here.

Let’s hope these games can provide us with a phenomenal early season boom.

Charlton Athletic V Wigan Athletic

BTTS & Wigan Win – 5/1  SkyBet

Both Charlton and Wigan were involved in score draws on the opening weekend and we think goals will be a continued theme as they meet at the Valley. However, it is the visitors who could come away with the spoils.

The Addicks struggled badly in 2013/14 and there is a strong possibility that they will be towards the foot of the table for much of this campaign also. Conversely, the Latics will be bidding for promotion back to the Premier League and Uwe Rosler’s men should demonstrate their superiority in Saturday’s fixture.

Wigan may have drawn 2-2 at home with Reading but the Royals pose a much stronger threat than this weekend’s opponents. Nevertheless, Bob Peeters’ men will be optimistic of a strong start in what is their first Championship home match of the new season.

Last year’s corresponding fixture ended in a tedious 0-0 but it is worth noting that Wigan won the reverse fixture 2-1; a similar scoreline may be on the cards here.

Coventry City V Sheffield United

BTTS & Sheff United Win – 4/1 SkyBet

League One side Coventry were a regular inclusion for BTTS punters in 2013/14 and after last week’s 3-2 loss at Bradford we’re backing another high scoring defeat for the Sky Blues here.

Coventry hit 74 and conceded 77 in an incredibly entertaining season last year and neutral fans will love watching the troubled Sky Blues again in 2014/15. Their 3-2 defeat at Valley Parade is an early indication that it will be another goal-packed season for the homeless League One club and we expect them to both score and ship again this Saturday.

The visitors enter this contest on the back of a hugely disappointing opening loss to Bristol City and the pre-season favourites will be determined to bounce back in style here. We have every faith in Nigel Clough’s ability to guide them to three points at the Sixfields Stadium. Nevertheless, you cannot underestimate the attacking ability of the hosts.

These sides have both scored in each of the past five head-to-head meetings and we’d expect that run to continue here. However, we’re backing the Blades to cut down the Sky Blues by securing the win.

Luton Town V AFC Wimbledon

BTTS & Luton Town Win – 3/1 SkyBet

League Two newcomers Luton celebrated their return to the Football League in perfect style with last weekend’s 1-0 win at Carlisle United and we’re backing John Still’s men to keep their 100% start going against AFC Wimbledon.

However, it might not be plain sailing for the Hatters and they may need to dig deep for the victory as league football returns to Kenilworth Road.

AFC Wimbledon opened their account with a 2-2 home draw against Shrewsbury and it appears that Neil Ardley’s men will be amongst the goals in 2014/15. The attacking duo of Matt Tubbs and Adebayo Akinfenwa should serve the Dons well throughout the campaign and they should find the net on a regular basis.

Defence is where the Dons show their biggest weaknesses, though, and that is something that a prolific Luton attack will be looking to punish. The hosts scored for fun in the Conference last year and will be out for a big scoreline in front of their own supporters here.

Wimbledon may well find the target but it is Luton who should enjoy the majority of possession in Saturday’s showdown and we think that will reiterated by the final score.
