Both Teams To Score Tips Tuesday 11th August – Capital One Cup Special

After starting the new season in perfect style with Saturday’s winning BTTS treble, we’re turning our attentions to Tuesday’s League Cup action with hopes of maintaining the 100% record.

It can be hard to predict what players will take to the field, but these six teams should all fancy their chances of finding the net during the night’s round one action. At odds of over 9/2  for the three matches to bring goals at both ends, it’s got to be worth a punt.

Good luck!

Blackburn Rovers V Shrewsbury Town

Gary Bowyer’s men were a firm favourite on the BTTS coupon last term. The Championship side started 2015/16 win similar style and we fancy it to be another game of goals as they welcome Shrewsbury Town to Ewood Park.

Blackburn may have lost Rudy Gestede, along with a couple of others, but they still boast some quality attacking players. Nathan Delfouneso and Jordan Rhodes will be a threat if selected. If not, Rovers still have a number of stars capable of causing problems for the Shrews.

Nonetheless, Blackburn’s problems should not be dismissed. The hosts are facing issues off the field right now, and it showed on the pitch against Wolves on Saturday. With the League One visitors in high confidence after last year’s promotion from League Two, there’s no reason to think they can’t get on the scoresheet too.

Micky Mellon’s men also started this season with a BTTS winner, losing 2-1 to Millwall. We’re backing more goals here.

Northampton Town V Blackpool

Having started the new season with well-earned 1-0 win at Bristol Rovers, the Cobblers will have no fear about facing League One side Blackpool. In fact, the League Two club enter the game as slight favourites and we certainly expect them to score.

Chris Wilder’s will have been pleased to have seen John-Joe O’Toole get on the scoresheet last weekend, but the hosts also have a number of strikers capable of notching the goals. Considering Blackpool’s continued off-field problems, there has never been a better time to play the Tangerines.

However, the visitors did find the target twice at Colchester United on Saturday. That draw hands Neil McDonald’s men a foundation to build upon. They won’t want to lose their momentum and we’d expect them to score, even if they don’t win the game.

This is certainly one of the matches that could go either way. We’re backing both teams to score.

Southend United V Brighton & Hove Albion

Our final selection comes from Roots Hall as Phil Brown’s Shrimpers look to cause an upset against Championship club Brighton. The Essex club were brilliant at home towards the back end of last year’s promotion campaign and will be hoping to raise the curtain on their home campaign with goals.

The hosts have added the likes of Noel Hunt to an already decent attack. Meanwhile, Saturday’s score draw at Fleetwood has to be seen as a promising factor for punters on the BTTS market. The League One side will rightly be considered underdogs, but home advantage should give them a fighting chance.

Nonetheless, Chris Hughton will be hoping that the gulf in quality should shine through, even if does rest some players. Bobby Zamora could be set for a second debut, 15 years after making his first, while Sam Baldock would be another huge threat if selected.

It’s a battle of the Seaside clubs and both of them will be hoping to advance. Let’s pray for an attacking affair.
