Both Teams To Score Treble Tues 7th Jan – Black Cats Can Break Down Leaky United Defence

I’m really hoping that the weather holds up this evening, as my both teams to score picks include a couple from the non league pyramid. Fingers crossed it calms down a little bit.

Here are the 3 picks I’m going with tonight, paying just under 5/1 with Paddy Power:

Sunderland v Manchester United 7.45pm
Capital One Cup
BTTS Odds: 4/5 Paddy Power

Manchester United face Sunderland just a couple of days after being knocked out of the FA Cup by Swansea and all is definitely not well at Old Trafford.

Despite not yet conceding a goal in this competition so far, United are vulnerable and Sunderland will be looking to create a bit of breathing space before returning to Old Trafford for the 2nd leg.

Sunderland have impressed in this competition and you just wouldn’t back against them scoring against a side that are at sixes and sevens at present. A win may be a tall order (it’s 20 games sinc their last win against United), but I’m pretty certain they will score past a far from solid looking away defence.

Halifax v Salisbury City 7.45pm
Conference Premier
BTTS Odds: 4/7 Paddy Power

Halifax are solid enough at home (P15 W11 D3 L1) but they’ve got in the habit of conceding a fair few goals, and a look at the league table points out that they actually have the joint 2nd leakiest defence in the division; shipping a whopping 44 goals in 28 games.

The home side sit in 5th position on 42 points, 2 points and 5 places above tonight’s opponents Salisbury. However the visitors have 4 games in hand of Halifax.

Salisbury have scored in 8 of their last 10 games away from home. Halifax have scored in EVERY home league game this season. This game should contain goals for both sides.

Bishops Stortford v Concorde Rangers 7.45pm
Conference North
BTTS Odds: 8/13 Paddy Power

This game looks to have both teams to score written all over it.

Sitting in 4th place in the league, Bishops Stortford have lost 2 of their last 5 games, but have scored and conceded in all of these, with plenty of goals to boot. Last 5 games: 2-2, 5-3, 2-1, 1-3, 2-3.

Visitors Concorde Rangers are down in 14th place currently but are on a run of 3 games unbeaten. They’ve also happened to score in 4 of their last 5 away games.

Despite being a superior team to Concorde, Bishops Stortford have conceded in all but 1 of their 9 home games in all competitions this season so it’s looking like a very good BTTS selection on stats alone.
