It’s a new year, and we’re hoping to begin 2016 in the same way that we enjoyed much of 2015 – with a winning BTTS treble.
Our first treble of the year comes courtesy of a Football League treble. The odds on all six teams are just under 7/2. However, with the 888sport treble the odds offer, those odds swell to over 10/1. Not a bad way to start will hopefully be another great year here at GGT.
Good luck!
Birmingham City V Brentford
Our first selection comes from St Andrew’s as Birmingham City take on fellow play-off hopefuls Brentford in one of the Championship’s more exciting contests. Both teams will be hopeful of starting 2016 on a high, and we’re hopeful that this will lead to a game of intense drama.
The Blues ended 2015 with a 1-0 win over MK Dons. Gary Rowett’s men have only scored 11 times in 12 home matches, but they should be quietly confident against a Bees backline that has conceded 17 on the road.

However, Birmingham have shipped 13 home goals, which will afford aded confidence to Dean Smith’s visitors. Brentford will be particularly confident if they can get the ball to Lasse Vibe and Phillipp Hofmann on a regular basis. After all, the bees have notched 19 away goals, including two in each of their last three matches away from Griffin Park.
In fact, Brentford’s last five away games have ended in BTTS winners. We’re backing yet another.

Sheffield United V Peterborough United
Peterborough United have been a firm favourite for BTTS punters for several years, and have offered great value throughout the first half of the campaign. Quite frankly, we can’t see the drama sliding as they make the trip to Bramall Lane.
Graham Westley’s men ended 2015 with a blank at Walsall, but Posh have still registered 23 goals in just 12 away games and should be optimistic about finding the target again the Blades. In addition to the firepower of Conor Washington and co, the visitors will also be looking to the leaky home defence as a source of inspiration.
However, the hosts are in good form after will be confident after winning their last four competitive matches. Nigel Adkins has already seen his side hit 25 home goals this term, so the home fans will expect more against a Peterborough side that notoriously struggle for clean sheets.
Both teams love goals at both ends. The odds might not be the best, but this really should be a winning selection.

Wycombe Wanderers V Morecambe
In League Two, Morecambe have been consistently inconsistent on the road. Their 12 matches thus far have brought four wins, four draws and four defeats. However, goals have been a regular feature regardless of the result and that trend should continue as they take on promotion-chasing Wycombe.
Jim Bentley’s visitors have scored 23 and conceded 22 already. The goals of Shaun Miller and Paul Mullin should give them a great chance of finding the target at Adams Park too. Nevertheless, it’s hard to see them keeping a clean sheet against Gareth Ainsworth’s men.
The Chairboys enter the new year sitting comfortably in fifth while they also boast a five-game unbeaten run in all competitions. At home, they’ve scored in all but one league match this term. However, with four of the last five ending in BTTS winners, they could be hard pushed for a clean sheet too.
We wouldn’t like to predict the match result, but we do expect goals. Back both teams to score.
