Football Acca Tip Saturday 5th March – Get on this 10/1 Bad Boy

I had a phone call earlier this week from the big boss man at ToePunter.com and apparently I need to work a bit harder if he’s going to let me carry on living in his spare room, so on that note I’ve decided that we need a few bets here on match results. I’ve picked out 5 teams who I think can snatch 3 points this weekend. Here’s hoping I still have somewhere to live on Monday.

Wigan v Peterborough

First on my list and it’s easy to see why. Wigan continue to scale League One pretty impressively and now sit 2nd in the league following a run of 13 games without defeat. They got a decent draw against Millwall in the week and this weekend face off against a Peterborough side who are falling faster than LVG on a touchline.

Having once been title contenders, The Posh and now lost 5 consecutive games in the league, a run which means they now sit 16th and are just 9 points clear of the drop! Wigan won at London Road back in October and I expect them to complete the double over Peterborough this weekend.

TIP – Wigan to win at 1.62 with SkyBet

Sheffield Wednesday v Rotherham

With no win in 3 games, Wednesday really need to get back on the page with Cardiff breathing down their necks and this is the perfect opportunity to do just that. In 21 games in all competitions here at Hillsbrough this season, only Middlesbrough have beaten them and this Saturday afternoon they face Rotherham who have the 2nd worst defence in the league.

The visitors have won just twice on their travels this term, losing 7 of their last 8 and failing to score in each of their last 2 away days. They were also beaten 1-2 at home by Wednesday earlier this season making this a damn decent pick in my eyes folks.

TIP – Sheffield Wednesday to win at 1.7 with SkyBet

Cheltenham v Welling

A bit on the short side this one, but it works well in an acca so let’s throw it in. Cheltenham suffered their first defeat in 23 league games in the week against Eastleigh but I really don’t see that being repeated this weekend.

The gap between themselves and Forest Green is now only 1 point, so they don’t have time to cry about it.

Welling sit rock bottom of the National League form table and 2nd from bottom of the league. It’s no win in 13 games, of which they have lost 11, including their last 5 in a row. Those 5 losses have all come without scoring a single goal and it should be relatively easy for the visitors to take advantage here.

TIP – Cheltenham to win at 1.4 with SkyBet

Falkirk v Alloa

Again, a little bit on the short side to back on its own, but it seems like it’s all but a formality to me. Alloa are 8 points adrift at the bottom of the Championship and if they manage to survive I will personally streak across their pitch (trust me, you better hope they don’t survive now). They’ve won just 3 times in 26 games and face a Falkirk side who are in search of promotion.

The hosts sit 3rd in the league and are unbeaten in 8 at home, winning 7 of those games, including a win against runaway league leaders Rangers. The last time the two met here Falkirk battered Alloa 5-0 and a similar result this weekend wouldn’t surprise me.

TIP – Falkirk to win at 1.36 with SkyBet

Swansea v Norwich

These two sides have a few things in common in that they are both faced with relegation from the Premier League and they are both shit. However, I think Swansea are less shit. Sure, they’ve lost 2 on the bounce but these were against sides in a great run of form.

Norwich have lost 9 of their last 10 away games, the shock result at Old Trafford being the exception, and they were beaten 3-0 on their last visit to The Liberty Stadium. They’ve also lost their last 5 on the road, scoring just once in that time. Back Swansea, you know it makes sense.

TIP – Swansea to win at 1.95 with SkyBet
