Goals Galore Treble Saturday 1st June – Goals From Spain Look Good

goals-galore-2012-13_250x250A Saturday just wouldn’t be a Saturday without a little Goals Galore bet and this weekend is no different.  I’ve had a look at the fixtures for today and found 3 games where I think both teams can find the net.

Deportivo La Coruna vs Real Sociedad

Following their 3-3 thriller with Real Madrid last week, I’m backing Sociedad to be involved in another goal fest this weekend as they travel to relegation threatened Deportivo.  This is one of the rare fixtures in La Liga this weekend that has great importance for both sides.  A win for the home side will see them safe for another season in the top-flight, whereas a win for Sociedad could secure Champions League football next season providing they better the result of 4th place Valencia who play at Sevilla.

From a Sociedad perspective, the recent form makes great reading for a Goals Galore bet.  Their last 5 consecutive games have seen them both score and concede and having scored in 9 of their last 10 away from home, they shouldn’t disappoint today.  Deportivo on the other hand looks more of a challenge with only 2 of their last 5 resulting in both teams finding the net, but they have scored in 4 of their last 5 with an impressive 0-0 draw with Atletico Madrid the only exception.

The two teams met back in January and played out a 1-1 draw.  Though the same scoreline today will do little for the ambitions of both clubs for next season, it would certainly do this treble a favour!

Banik Ostrava vs Jablonec

You have to go back 5 games to 2008 to find the last time these two met at Bazaly where both teams failed to find the net and today is set up for yet another goal glut.  Jablonec have scored in their last 8 consecutive games away from home and their last 6 straight in the league.  In fact, they’ve failed to score only once on their travels this season.

Recently however, their ability to score goals on the road has been overshadowed by their inability to keep a clean sheet.  Not only have they conceded in their last 7 games away from home, they have been shipping a serious amount of goals.  They’ve conceded 16 in their last 5, letting in 5 goals on two occasions. Though they have nothing to play for on this, the final day of the season, I’m still expecting them to find the net again today.

Banik Ostrava look to be safe this season due to their goal difference.  They sit 4th from bottom in the league but are 3 points clear of the drop but with 15 goals to spare.  In their 14 home games this season they’ve scored on 11 occasions; not a bad record considering their league position.  They’ve conceded in 10 of these 14 games and against a much stronger side in Jablonec, they are likely to concede again today given that the visitors have scored in each of their last 9 meetings with Ostrava.

Hacken vs Elfsborg

We’re only 10 games into the Swedish season and these two sides have already been amongst the goals.  Hacken have played 5 home games this season and despite only 1 of these resulting in both teams scoring, I’m confident we will see that become 2 today.

The home side have failed to score only once in their opening 5 home games in a 0-3 loss to 2nd place IFK Goteborg but in the 4 matches that have followed they have proved to be perfectly capable of finding the net.  9 goals in these 4 games since their loss and 3 wins and 1 draw have helped to secure a mid-table position early on in the season, despite some really poor form away from home.

Elfsborg are the side that make this bet worthwhile though.  They sit 3rd in the league after a great start and some great wins in the process, but away from home they just cannot keep a clean sheet.  They’ve played 5 away games so far this season and all 5 have resulted in both teams finding the net, managing to score in a 2-1 loss at league leaders Helsingborg, but also managing to concede in a 1-3 win away at bottom of the league Oster.
