After a short break from Friday’s qualifiers we have another full card of World Cup games on Tuesday night, but this time we have more of an idea on what kind of form the nations in question are in.
Here are my strongest Goals Galore picks for Tuesday night –
Turkey V Hungary 6.00pm
Now this is a crunch game in group D. A win for Turkey brings them to within 1 point of Hungary and assuming that Holland beat Romania this will mean 3 teams all within 1 point of each other fighting for the play off spot.
Turkey have scored in 3/5 games this qualification which is not the best (one of the 3 was away to Hungary) but with the passionate home support bound to be whipped up into a frenzy by the annoying announcer guy I expect Turkey to be up for the game.
Hungary are the surprise package of the group currently sitting 2nd with 10 points. They have scored in all 5 games in qualifying and will be looking to make 2nd place their own and pull away from the other 2.
I think this will be a highly charged game and will lead to mistakes and GOALS.
Denmark v Bulgaria 7.45pm
Denmark are coming off the back of a great win away from home against the Czech Rep winning 3-0, which was much needed considering in their last qualifying match they got trounced by lowly Macedonia.
They will really need to be winning this game if they are to stand any chance of qualification as they are 5 points off leaders Italy even though they have a game in hand, so I believe they will be all out to win this game and at least 1 goal is a must.
Bulgaria also are coming off the back of a big win against lowly Malta 6-0 and are still pressurizing Italy for top spot in the group being 1 point behind them, they need to keep the pressure on so I’m sure they will be going all out for goals.
I think this is a game where both teams should be going for the victory and chances should be plentiful.
Wales v Croatia 7.45pm
Both nations had great win last Friday, and while Croatia are considered favourites to take the spoils here, Wales have got to be fancied to pick up at least 1 goal.
Gareth Bale should have the all clear after being substituted against Scotland on Friday, and with a player like this in your team, and in the form he’s in, a goal is always imminent.
Croatia are a tough team to break down, but in front of a strong home crowd I think Wales have got what it takes to earn at least a score draw here, making it a perfect Goals Galore selection
