Ian’s Both Teams To Score Treble 25/26th January

After last weeks success in which I stuck my neck out and said it was my most confident treble of the season so far, and made it back to back winning BTTS trebles, I felt it completely necessary to try and complete the hatrick this weekend.

With a slight lack of league action this weekend due to the FA Cup 4th round, it’s taken a little longer to find the hidden gems, but they are there to be found, and here is what I’ve concocted for the BTTS coupon. Remember we’ve got a full card of league games next Tuesday and Wednesday so consider this a bank builder!

Port Vale v Brighton

FA Cup – 3.00pm Saturday
Both teams to score odds – 9/10 BetVictor

League 1 Port Vale take on Championship side Brighton at Vale Park and I like what I see when it comes to BTTS here.

The Valiants have already been involved in some goalfests this season in this competition. Beating non league Shortwood United 4-0 in the 1st round, they then beat Salisbury City 4-1 in the 2nd, before taking 2 games to dispose of League 2 Plymouth (2-2 and 3-2).

Brighton’s 3rd round match was hardly a shower of goals (beat Reading 1-0) but I think the key ingredient here is Port Vale’s relentless attacking attitude in this competition. It’s already been made perfectly evident that Vale are playing an expansive style in the FA Cup, and I don’t doubt for a second that they’ll manage to score against a usually tight Brighton defence.

It’s been 5 games since Brighton scored more than 1 goal in a match, but this will be a great opportunity to get back to free scoring ways. I really do think there’s goals in this.

Airdrie v Stranraer

Scottish League 1 – 3.00pm Saturday
Both teams to score odds – 9/20 BetVictor

A game I touched on in my midweek stats and trends article. Stranraer have a fantastic record of BTTS on their travels this season (90%). They quite simply can’t keep a clean sheet on the road, and that’s a good job, because Airdrie are rooted to the bottom of the table with just 15 points to their name this term.

So what makes me think Airdrie will score? Apart from Stranraer’s non existent defence on the road, Airdrie have a couple of eyecatching recent results. A 0-1 home loss to runaway leaders Rangers is no disgrace at all, but they picked up a 1-0 win away at 2nd placed Dunfermline last weekend, and that should be a great confidence boost for them.

Stranraer beat Airdrie 3-1 in their last meeting in November, and I envisage a similar result in this one too. The visitors should win, but I’m very confident Airdrie will net at least 1 consolation.

Cambuur v Heerenveen

Dutch Eredivisie – 11.30am Sunday
Both teams to score odds – 8/15 BetVictor

Heerenveen are another team I mentioned in my midweek article. They are really worth following for BTTS at present, and depending who they play they are almost an automatic selection for my coupon at the moment. They’ve scored and conceded in EVERY home game this season, and while they’re not 100% on their travels (77%) they will almost certainly make their presence felt against Eredivisie new boys Cambuur on Sunday morning.

Cambuur returned from the winter break with a 2-0 win over Go Ahead Eagles last weekend. Added to a couple of friendly wins over Lierse and De Graafschap during the break, I think they’ve returned with renewed confidence and could give their opponents a decent challenge.

Heerenveen beat Cambuur 2-1 in the reverse fixture earlier in the season, and a similar result would suit me down to the ground.

Today’s treble pays best at BetVictor where a £10 stake returns £42.20
