Fiorentina’s 100% BTTS Yes Serie A record, in their last six home games, failed us last weekend as Sampdoria – who were in great form and had netted in five of their last six league away games – couldn’t hold up their end of the bargain. Otherwise, 2/3 BTTS Yes picks were correct. Anyway, find Saturday’s selections below and good luck.

Nottingham Forest v Huddersfield
Only three of Dougie Freedman’s Nottingham Forrest’s last six combined home and away Championship games have seen both teams score, but at the City Ground it’s four out of six for a more respectable 66.7% BTTS Yes strike rate.
The Terriers from Huddersfield, meanwhile, have a better overall BTTS Yes strike rate, with four of their last six games (66.7%) resulting in each side scoring at least once. On their travels, it’s a more attractive 5/6 to make up 83.3%.
All in all, with Forrest too many points adrift of the final playoff place and the West Yorkshire outfit twelve points clear of the final relegation slot, I’m hoping that we see an open game with plenty of goals.

Heerenveen v AZ Alkmaar
Currently seventh in the Eredivisie standings, Dutch side Heerenveen currently occupy one of the Europa League qualifying berths in what is a complicated system in the Netherlands – indeed, no need to go into it here – while the better known AZ Alkmaar occupy fourth place and face the same outcome as their hosts, unless they can move into third place and avoid the internal playoffs.
Anyway, just three of Heerenveen’s last six league matches have seen both teams score, but at home it’s four out of six for a 66.7% strike rate. AZ, on the other hand, have that same 66.7% BTTS Yes win rate from their last six overall and last six road games.
In conclusion, the stats are just about good enough to add to the treble, and both teams have motivation to improve the league positions, particularly AZ who are seven points behind third placed Feyenoord. A big and unlikely gap to overturn, sure, but they’ve nothing to lose by trying in this complicated league.

Genoa v Cagliari
Genoa have had a good season so far, but their form has faltered recently, with two losses and three draws in their last five games. Ten points behind a Sampdoria side that currently occupies the final Europa League berth, Genoa don’t realistically have anything to play for either.
An open game could be on the cards this weekend, then, and notably five of Genoa’s last six home games have resulted in both teams scoring for an 83.3% strike rate. In their last six overall it’s slightly lower at 66.7% (4/6), but with gung-ho Zeman back in charge at doomed Cagliari and five of the Sardinians last six overall (83.3%) games seeing both teams score, and 4/6 away (66.7%), I’m expecting another both teams to score on Saturday.
