In a bizarre twist of fate very late on in the Brentford v Doncaster game, the title was won from under the noses of Bournemouth, although both teams will be playing Championship football next season.
So now we have a completed league, who are the winners and losers when it comes to our favourite bet.. Goals Galore?..
There is just one winner when it comes to scoring and conceding in home games, and that’s Scunthorpe. Of their 23 games at Glanford Park, Scunthorpe managed to score and concede in 19 matches, a return of 78.3%.
However if you thought this great both teams to score record transferred to their away games you’d be drastically wrong.. The Iron scored and conceded in just 9 of their 23 away games, a paltry return of 39.1%.
Away from home, not many teams were great for Goals Galore on a regular basis. Only 2 teams managed to score and concede in over 60% of their away games; Carlisle (65.2%) and Crewe(65.2%).
It’s safe to say that League 1 hasn’t really been very profitable for regular both teams to score punters this season, many teams appeared to cancel each other out.
So which team had the best combined results for Goals Galore. That was Carlisle. 60.9% at home and 65.2% away from home make them the most consistent both teams to score side in League 1 with a combined total of 63.0%, a total of 29 from 46 games seeing both teams score.
