BTTS Picks by @AlmightyTips – Saturday 3rd October

This weekend we welcome a guest post by BTTS competition September £50 prize winner @AlmightyTips. He sealed the victory in a 3 way playoff on Sunday, and returns this week with his thoughts for Saturday’s BTTS coupon. Well done on your win and good luck!

Selections

Grimsby v Forest Green @4/5

Gateshead v Dover @8/11

Torquay v Aldershot @8/13

The both teams to score treble pays 4/1

Grimsby v Forest Green

At home Grimsby has seen 4/5 matches going both teams to score and overall they have seen 10/13. Forest Green have seen 7/13 matches having BTTS and on the road they have seen just 3/6.

You would think Forest Green stats don’t look too appealing but when you consider that their recent form has seen 6/7 matches going BTTS and their last 2 away games have seen it as well then this selection start to look better on paper.

Grimsby are in good form at the moment and beat Southport 4-0 last time out which will give them good confidence in this match. Forest Green on the other hand have taken a bit of a dip considering their amazing start to the season. They lost their last two games away from home but still managed to score. I see the same happening again here.

BTTS & Grimsby win is a tasty price at 11/4 for those who like that market. These teams have met 10 times in the past and BTTS has landed a whopping 8 times.

Grimsby have already scored 27 goals this season which is the 2nd highest in the league and Forest Green have scored 22 which is also good going. Taking everything into account this is my favourite selection of the three.

Gateshead v Dover

Gateshead have seen BTTS in 9/13 matches so far this season which works out at 76.92%. Dover has seen 8/13. Both very high amount of games to have seen BTTS. Combine them both together and we are hopefully looking at a goal fest.

At home Gateshead have played six, conceding 9 and scoring 9 in the process. Dover away has also played six and have a similar record – scoring 10 and conceding 9.

In Dover’s last away game they faced Eastleigh and they scored a whopping 5 goals. Dover don’t have the best record away from home this season having only won once. Key statistic though is that they have scored in all but one of those games.

A nice little trend I spotted was that Dover have scored in the first half in all but 2 of their away games this season and I would consider backing both teams to score in the 1st half at 7/2 if you are looking for a better odds bet.

Torquay v Aldershot

This should be a good match! Both teams are not in the best of form, Torquay especially who have not won in their last 10 matches, losing 6 in the process.

Luckily, Torquay are at home for this game and have scored in their last 3. In one of the games they actually scored 3 but shipped 7 in the same game which is always good to see when betting on goals in matches.

Aldershot stats do not look much better. They have lost their last 2 games and lost them comfortably. Aldershot are very much the West Ham of the National League at the moment… Much better away than they are at home. They have won last 3/5 away and scored in all 5 matches.

H2H stats at Torquay show that they have played 6 times and in those matches BTTS has occurred 4 times. If Aldershot were playing anyone else I’m not sure I would pick this as a BTTS match but Torquay are pretty reliable to score and concede at home. This could be a very high scoring game but I think both teams would be happy with a draw and you can get both teams to score draw at 18/5 with 888sport.
